Time for my twice yearly website update. The last six months or so have been crazy working on a number of projects. First, Lady X Part Deux is on going with about half the project finished according director, TC Lin.We have done some pretty challenging stuff ranging from a lab assault to a car chase and numerous shoot outs. Since I've bought my new Panasonic AG-DVX 100A video camera, I have been helping out TC when we need a two camera set up or when we just have so much to do that we have little choice but to break up into two teams to get extra stuff. So far it's worked out well and I'm pretty happy to be behind the camera.
Norman "Paul" Szabo and I have also been busy, when we haven't been working on LX2, and have done a number of short films together for Channel 101 and Channel 102 . The first project we started after the new year was Living the Dream. This is a five minute documentary style short about Tim, an office worker who joins an experimental "performance enhancing" program that allows him to work longer and harder. While everything seems to be going well for Tim and he "feels good about the future," disaster seems immanent.
TENCOM, the second project we completed, explores the world of espionage, mega-corporations and a repentant zombie. Unfortunately, neither Living the Dream nor TENCOM were picked up as series for Channel 101 or 102 so we might never know what would have happened to Tim or the repentant zombie (who are actually played by the same actor. Haha). What's next for Norman Szabo? Rumor has it his next pilot will involve demented dolls and a castrated Australian who has the power to kill yaks from a hundred yards with mind bullets! Channel 101, watch out!
All in all it's been a pretty busy year so far and I've done a lot of cool stuff with TC and Paul and the next little while will be pretty busy as I continue honing my 3D skills for the CGI stuff I need to do for LX2, and I'm also looking forward to developing some of my ideas into projects. Always onwards and upwards. Unless I'm taking a nap, of course. :-)
